The Gercela : A professional organisation of Charolais genetics cattle- breeders registered at the Herd-Book Charolais, owners of the best stocks  in their native land.

Our passion:

the Charolais cows.

A selection and breeding of pure origin Charolais cows to improve the livestock all over the world. In the Charolais terroir, the Gercela farmers do their best to select the purest lineages as they have been doing it for 60 years. They are 60 members owning 6500 Charolais cows, all registered at the Charolais Herd-Book.

The Gercela is the first widely recognised organisation of  cattle- breeders registered at the Charolais Herd-Book. Most of the Gercela farms are situated in the Centre of France,  near Magnicourt, between the Loire and the Allier, at the Marault farm.

The 65 farms of the Gercela still own exceptional breeders such as Erckman, (2009 Super prix d’Honneur in Moulins).In 1962, the Gercela organised the first auction sale of breeders at the Marault farm.
